The face of school privatization includes vouchers and charter schools. The Wisconsin privatization scheme in the form of charter schools and vouchers is being challenged in court. It is interesting that both charters and vouchers are being challenged in the same lawsuit.
The Illinois legislature recently failed to renew the state’s voucher scheme; hence that voucher scheme ended.
There are some signs that the tide is turning back to the past traditional practice of funding only public schools with tax money. Citizens are awaking to the antics used by some public officials to appropriate tax funds to private individuals and private schools contrary to the constitutional provisions in various states.
