Science of Reading Lawsuit set for preliminary injunction hearing on April 22, 9:30 AM.

The State Budget Bill (HB33) mandated that the “Science of Reading” methodology must be used in Ohio schools. The Governor’s office set forth that mandate in the budget recommendation to the legislature a year ago. The Governor’s Department of Education and Workforce Development is enthusiastically enforcing the mandate.

However, the Science of Reading mandate is being challenged in court. Separately, the transfer of duties of the State Board of Education is also being challenged in court.
