Animal shelter can improve with new county leadership
Clermont County’s animal shelter has been featured on local news networks several times this year and never for anything good. The story first caught my attention in February, when inaction by management and County Commissioners led to volunteers using their own time and money to professionally launder towels and blankets for this county-run agency. In the months since, it has become public that the agency is consistently and dangerously short-staffed, that the work environment is toxic, and that animal [...]

Ohio –The only state that can flip its supreme court in 2024
Now more than ever, the Ohio Supreme Court has shown us that they do not have the best interest of Ohioans at heart. They have approved language in the ballot board's description of Issue 1 (the Citizens Not Politicians Amendment) that is inaccurate and intentionally misleading. In addition to preventing this kind of craziness in the future, the outcome of this election will directly affect our schools by how the Ohio Supreme Court rules on private school vouchers, as [...]

Gen Z voters are critical to success
A recent Ohio Capital Journal article quotes a new poll saying Gen Z, ages 18-27 in 2024, make up 41 million new voters. They cite jobs, economy, climate change and gun violence as top issues that concern them most ahead of the November election. The article says more than 75 percent of voters aged 18-34 have voted in every election since 2004, yet only 32 percent of Ohio Gen Z voters are registered to vote. One statewide, all-volunteer organization, [...]
Word from the Chair – Let’s flip this court
Three Ohio Supreme Court seats will be on November’s ballot. Currently, Republicans hold a 4-3 majority. If Democrats win all three races, it will become a 4-3 Democratic court. If Republicans win all three races, it becomes a 6-1 Republican court. The Ohio Supreme Court will decide about gerrymandering and reproductive rights. So it is vital that we work to reelect Justices Michael Donnelly and Melody Stewart and elect Judge Lisa Forbes. Supreme Court candidates go head-to-head with [...]
Samantha Meadows: “I am from the region”
Interview shows contrast from Trump-endorsed opponent Check out this interview with OH-2 U.S. Congressional Candidate Samantha Meadows on NBC4.com. She wants voters in her district to know that she is one of them. "I'm not asking for you to put me in a position of power and then go to Washington and legislate without you having input into that process. I will always listen to my district and I will vote according to my district. I want to be [...]
