Jan Resseger: Court Says Pennsylvania School Funding is Unconstitutional. Will Pennsylvania Get a New Formula?
Jan Resseger’s February 16 blog shows that the current school funding litigation situation in Pennsylvania is now quite like that of Ohio in the 1990’s. One study conducted in Pennsylvania indicated that school districts are underfunded by $4.6 billion.
During the 1990’s one school finance study in Ohio revealed that Ohio schools were underfunded by about $3.5 billion for a biennium.
Politicians in control of Pennsylvania, according to media reports, seem to favor alternatives to authentic public education and thus spend billions on those alternatives. Same is true in Ohio.
