Jan Resseger’s January 26 Blog: Expansion of Vouchers is Being Driven by an Ideological Corporate Campaign, not by Voters.
In her January 26 Blog, Jan Resseger explains that the real drivers of school vouchers are not the voters. In fact, vouchers have never entered into any state education policy by a majority vote of the voters. Legislatures in various states have ignored the will of the people as expressed by constitutional provisions or referendums.
State officials should permit the citizens of the state to decide the voucher question district by district or statewide. Pro-voucher politicians know that a majority of the citizens do not support vouchers, thus will not allow the matter to be decided by the folks. Hence, the EdChoice voucher litigation is necessary.
