2020 marks our 50th Annual COPE Celebration. Unfortunately, because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to hold out traditional, in-person dinner gathering. Instead, the Cincinnati AFL-CIO will be holding a private COPE live broadcast/online event, beginning with a special one hour, VIP invite-only group discussion with several elected officials, followed by our main program. Our keynote program speakers include Lonnie R. Stephenson, International President of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEWL Lee Saunders, International President of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME)(pending confirmation and a special guest from the Biden-Harris campaign. At the conclusion of our main program, there will be a private showing of ‘9-5: The Story of a Movement/ a new movie about the challenging experience of the union organizing movement of women office workers in the 1970s, which later inspired the 1980 ‘9 to 5’ movie. Prior to the movie, we hear a live introduction by Academy Award Winning Directors, Steven Bognar and Julia Reichert, who most recently directed the Oscar-winning Netflix doc ‘American Factory’.

So, from the comfort of your own living room, please join us and the Cincinnati AFL-CIO Labor Council family and friends to celebrate 50 Years of Solidarity and Unity. in the greater Cincinnati Labor movement.
