If there were ever a time to pick up the phone and call Rep. Jean Schmidt, it is now.
You may have thought that her most extreme claim to fame (aside from that time she jumped and down, cheering because she thought the Affordable Care Act had been overruled . . but had not ) was when she called rape “an opportunity” after Roe v. Wade was overturned.
But this time, she has introduced HB 754, a bill that would require a “certificate of life” to be filed after a fetal heartbeat is detected. The proposed law would also mandate the registration of all fetal deaths, including miscarriages and abortions. See this article for more details.
And then, please call (614/466-8134) or email Rep. Schmidt and tell her you oppose this bill.
And then, let’s get Ian Schwartz elected to replace her in November.
