It may seem futile to keep contacting our U.S. Senators’ offices. It likely won’t affect the outcome, and our outreach so far has been dismissed. But their offices do keep a record of emails and calls; staffers and interns can’t help but notice massive constituent action. Our persistence and intensity still matter.
THE URGENT ISSUE: Congress faces a January 30th deadline to pass remaining appropriations bills, including the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) bill (which oversees ICE), to fully fund the government for fiscal year (FY) 2026. The House of Representatives already passed a standalone DHS appropriations bill last week. The Senate is set to vote on the same bill this week — maybe even tomorrow. Tell Moreno and Husted to block any bill that maintains funding for ICE.
A member of our Legislative Action Team drafted an excellent email message that you can use as an example when writing your own, then cut and paste them in the online forms on the senators’ websites. Click here for Moreno. Click here for Husted. If calling is easier, call their offices directly using 5calls.org. A script will come up along with the senators’ office phone numbers.
