Volunteers who circulated SB1 repeal petitions will turn in their signatures to the Secretary of State’s office Thursday (click for article). The preliminary number of signatures collected in Clermont County is 2,701, which exceeds the 2,406 requirement. Senate Bill 1 is scheduled to take effect this Friday, but if there are 248,092 valid signatures, Senate Bill 1 can be blocked until after the November election, where the repeal will be on the ballot. If petition organizers, come up short, they have 10 days to make up the difference. If a 10-day “cure” is required, there will be an urgent push for signatures. Keep an eye on your emails.
