Rachel Coyle, co-founder of “How Things Work at the Statehouse” and a director of Ohioans Against Extremism and Honesty for Ohio Education, treated us to a clinic on grassroots activism at the Volunteer Summit last week. Rachel made clear that even though times are tough, there are things we can all be doing to try to affect change and, at the very least, hold our state government accountable.
“When you can’t make the good thing happen and you can’t stop the bad thing from happening, you make sure people know who is doing the bad thing.”
Case in point: did you know that our State Senator Terry Johnson voted for S.B. 1, the Higher Education bill that will devastate Ohio’s public colleges and universities (see the next story).
