Saturday’s No Kings protests were an unqualified success with thousands participating at Eastgate and Loveland, and millions worldwide. Many, many thanks to all volunteers who organized and participated. We must ensure our voices remain loud and clear that the Trump administration does not reflect American values.

Now we MUST take that energy and get qualified people who care about our public schools and local communities elected. On November 4, Clermont County will have about 100 elections: school districts elect three members (except Clermont Northeastern (CNE), which elects two), two township trustees, and four city/village council members.

These local elections matter a great deal to our communities and because they are nonpartisan, a place where we can get good, capable people elected. This is how we create community leaders and build our bench.

Protest momentum is most effective when it turns into election momentum. Meet candidates and learn about the two Clermont levies at Thursday’s meeting. When dutiful leadership is in office, we are all well-served.

In solidarity,

Patty Lawrence
