Late last week, the Republican-led Ohio Ballot Board (run by Secretary of State Frank LaRose) approved partisan, inaccurate and unconstitutional ballot language to describe the Citizens Not Politicians (CNP) amendment. The language actually says that the CNP amendment will “establish a new taxpayer-funded commission required to GERRYMANDER the boundaries. . . .”

It comes as no surprise that the Citizens Not Politicians group, along with two individuals, have already filed a lawsuit to get this decision reversed, to ensure that Ohio voters are provided with truthful and impartial ballot language.

Our jobs as grassroots Democrats now is to ensure that regardless of the final ballot language, our friends and neighbors understand that a YES on the Citizens Not Politicians Amendment, called “Issue 1” on the ballot, means an end to gerrymandering because it will remove politicians from the entire redistricting process.
