Word from the Chair:
|
County parties, like CCDP, are the very basic building block of Democracy. We work to build the Democratic party, create a candidate pipeline, and elect Democrats at every level of government. Everyone who works to further CCDP’s mission is a volunteer and we get no funds from the state party. We depend on people with the same values to help support the work we do. This year we must maintain our office, buy signs and mailers.
Please consider a monthly contribution of $5 or $10 or $20 so that we can do the work that builds our party. Clermont demographics are changing and the faster we reach voters, the faster we will be able to change our community.
Please be a part of the change you wish to see in this world.
Patty Lawrence
Chair, Clermont County Democratic Party
What does Clermont County Recorder do? |
The County Recorder keeps all vital records pertaining to ownership of real estate and all encumbrances or liens upon it. It’s important work — without the recording, organizing and safekeeping of all real estate documents it would be nearly impossible to purchase land and be assured of a clear title or to lend money with land as security. For instance, because of this office, no one can show up at the house you own and legitimately claim that they can park their |
mobile home in your backyard. The County Recorder has your back, in real estate and history. The office keeps records of every piece of land in the county. Records of street and subdivision names, drawings of lots and boundaries, and zoning resolutions/annexations. In addition, they track business partnerships, name changes, powers of attorney, military discharges and so much more!

Meet our State Central Committee reps |
Our new 14th District Representatives to the State Central Committee, in their own words: I am Alicia Gee. I was appointed in August as your representative after Constance Lighthall moved to Michigan for her much-deserved retirement. Along with my day job as an 8th-grade Intervention Specialist, I am the secretary for the Brown County Democrat Club, a founding member and Treasurer for Brown County Democrats for Progress, and the Treasurer for Hillsboro Against Racism and Discrimination. After I co-organized a demonstration in support for Black Lives in my hometown of Bethel in 2020, I began focusing on organizing with like-minded, rural citizens to make a change in our communities. I believe that a democracy will only survive and thrive if everyone’s voice is heard and supported, and I hope to continue doing the work to ensure our district, our counties, and our communities are supported. My name is Collin Docterman. I was appointed on May 11 to fulfill the unexpired term vacated by Ben Brady. I am immensely grateful for Ben’s service. He has taken on a new role within the United Auto Workers, so he is still very much in the fight. I am sure our paths will cross with his as we advocate for our workers. I currently serve as the Scioto County Democratic Party Chair and Special Advisor to the ODP Rural Caucus. I am a hospice Nurse Assistant and foster parent. I am a perennial optimist. I believe that we can and will make a more just, free and mutually beneficial society for future generations. We have got to believe that. Despite news headlines, regardless of the polls, even with the awareness of the genuine evil and cruelty in the world, we can make it better. We are not telling you anything that you do not know when we point out that our region is often overlooked. The circumstances of many in our district reflect that disregard. With this year’s effort to take the drawing of districts out of the hands of politicians, now is the time to put ourselves in a position to take advantage of those better-drawn districts. We would like to help your county parties in whatever ways possible. |
