SCHOOLS CAN’T ARM TEACHERS WITHOUT PROPER TRAINING
School districts do not have the discretion to authorize the arming of teachers, according to a Wednesday ruling by the Ohio Supreme Court. The state’s highest court came out with the decision on Wednesday, going against legislative efforts and pro-gun lobbying groups who believed local control should be a part of firearms policies in Ohio schools. HE’S JUST NOT THAT INTO THEM
Columbus, OH — Over the weekend, failed Florida blogger Donald Trump held a rally in Wellington that Ohio GOP Senate candidates pulled out all the stops for, trying to secure the support of the only voter they seem to care about. From renting out airplanes to hosting all-day cookouts, the Republican candidates were stepping all over themselves to prove that they were the ones worthy of his affections. But unfortunately for all of these GOP candidates, he’s just not that into them. READ MORE
HISTORY CORNER: U.S. GRANT: A FOODIE?

GET INVOLVED AND TAKE ACTION
Our mission at All On The Line is to end gerrymandering. We believe fair redistricting is essential to making our democracy more responsive to the people. And as President Obama said: “At its core, the fight for fair maps is a fight for voting rights.”
We know you can’t fix one without the other — we must take action to end gerrymandering and stop voter suppression. That’s why we’re leading a nationwide grassroots effort to get Congress to pass the For the People Act. Send your senators a message and tell them that we must adopt bold and comprehensive democracy reforms if we want to see change and strengthen our democracy.
The All On The Line team doesn’t just want people to believe their vote matters, we want to ensure that it really does. Thank you for being a part of this grassroots movement to help protect the vote — and ensure the maps are fair.
READING ROOM
Barnstorming Ohio by David Giffels The question of America’s identity has rarely been more urgent than now, and no American place has ever been more reflective of that identity than Ohio. David Giffels, a lifelong resident of the “bellwether” state, has spent a quarter century writing and thinking about what it means to live in what he calls “an all-American buffet, an uncannily complete everyplace.” With Cleveland as the end of the North, Cincinnati as the beginning of the South, Youngstown as the end of the East, and Hicksville (yes, Hicksville) as the beginning of the Midwest, Ohio offers important insight into the state of the nation.
