CLERMONT COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY ELECTS OFFICERS

The Central Committee of the Clermont County Democratic Party met on May 27, 2020 to elect Party officers and the Party’s managing Executive Committee. To protect everyone’s health and safety, Committee members participated in the meeting individually via computer or telephone.

Executive Committee members were elected representing the townships and cities of Clermont County.

The Party’s immediate priority is election of the Democratic slate of candidates in the November, 2020 general election. That slate is:

As we all know, it takes money to keep the Clermont County Democratic Party in operation. By this time we should have heavily solicited funds for our 2020 Donkey Club Membership, received a few donations at our St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast, held our Annual Golden Donkey Dinner in April (which is our major fundraiser) along with getting ready for our Wine Down Thursday at Harmony Hill in June. Due to Covid-19 these crucial fundraising events had to be canceled or postponed so our funds have been greatly depleted.

We still need to maintain our headquarters on Main Street in Batavia. We have funds to carry us through July. Our basic monthly expenses (rent and utilities) run approximately $630 per month. We will have no money to promote our Candidates or maintain our Headquarters after July. It’s going to require all of us to step forward to make a major commitment to our Party.

You can do this by JOINING OUR DONKEY CLUB. Ask your family and friends to join the Donkey Club! You can donate online through our ActBlue Donkey Club Membership below. All you have to do is “click” on the Donate button to make a donation. If you would prefer to send a check to the Clermont County Democratic Party please make your check out to CCDP and mail to P.O. Box 475, Batavia, Ohio 45103.

If you look at the Primary Election results you will see that we have many new people who have the desire to get involved in the Clermont County Democratic Party, but again, it takes funds for us to move forward. If you can only afford $20 or $50 then you have done your part; if you can donate $100, $250 or $500 or a larger amount that will help us tremendously!

IPM FOOD PANTRY AND NATIONAL GUARD DISTRIBUTE FOOD AT CROSSROADS CHURCH

Hart said they targeted school districts in food deserts located in Clermont County.

“In spite of today’s cold and rainy weather, 1,000 forty-pound boxes of food was distributed to over 3,900 individuals. Partnering with the FSFB, National Guard, Crossroads East Side Church and Jungle Jim’s, IPM was able to expand its reach within the community,” she said. “This is such a challenging time for so many families, we want our neighbors to know we are here to lend a helping hand.” READ MORE.

Whether you’re running for office, working on a campaign, or building your local party’s or organization’s infrastructure, you need to connect with your donors. We’re here to help! How can you do this when you can’t meet in person?During this fundraising session, our trainer will train on how to master the calls to action when building your email fundraising list. An email with directions and login information will be sent out by prior to the virtual live training.

We will be using Zoom for this webinar, and please test out using Zoom prior to this meeting. We encourage downloading the app version (instead of viewing directly in your web browser) so that you can fully participate in any breakout groups.

WORD FROM THE CHAIR – RAYMOND LEMBKE

As is required by law, the Clermont County Democratic Party conducted the party reorganization by electing a new Executive Committee and new Executive and Central Committee officers on Wednesday, May 27. Due to the pandemic, we were unable to meet in person to reorganize as we have done every two years in the past. Instead, the meeting was conducting online through Zoom, hosted by the Ohio Democratic Party, and livestreamed on our Facebook page. THE CENSUS BUREAU IS LOOKING FOR HELP

Based on continuing assessments, guidance from federal, state and local health authorities, the U.S. Census Bureau is planning to reactivate 2020 Census field operations, pending statutory relief from Congress, after June 1. The Census Bureau is taking this step to help protect the health and safety of the American public, Census Bureau employees, and everyone who will go through the hiring process for temporary census taker positions.
