CLERMONT COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY URGES REGISTERED VOTERS TO “STAY HOME AND VOTE” IN PRIMARY ELECTION
Deadline to Vote in Ohio’s Primary Election Is April 28
“It’s important for voters to know — polling places will not be open on April 28 or June 2. If voters want to make their voices heard in the primary election, they must request their absentee ballot right away.”
“We’re pleased that Ohio’s primary election was extended, allowing Ohioans to stay home and vote,” said Ohio Democratic Party Chairman David Pepper. “The bill passed by the legislature didn’t have everything we were looking for, but we’re glad to see that each absentee ballot will have postage paid and every board of elections will soon have a secure dropbox outside, where voters can return their absentee ballots at any time of day and without in-person contact.
“We’re urging every Ohio voter that wants to participate in the primary election to submit their absentee ballot application immediately, so they have ample time to receive and return their absentee ballot.”

The office of the Clermont County Board of Elections is open by appointment only.
Primary election absentee ballot applications must be received not later than noon on April 25, 2020.
April 25, 2020 – 12:00 noon – deadline to deliver absentee ballot applications to the Board of Elections
April 27, 2020 – voted ballots must be postmarked by this date
April 28, 2020 – 7:30 pm – deadline to drop off voted ballots to the Board of Elections office

PRO-HOUSEHOLDER SUPER PAC SPENT MORE THAN $1 MILLION ON OHIO GOP PRIMARIES, INCLUDING TWO CLERMONT COUNTY RACES
COLUMBUS – A pro-House Speaker Larry Householder super PAC spent more than $1 million this year to pit Republicans against one another in primary races. The Growth and Opportunity PAC spent more than 40% of that money on advertising in two Republican primaries for the Ohio House of Representatives in Clermont County, according to federal campaign finance forms filed this week.READ MORE.

David Uible, a candidate for Ohio Senate District 14, once again appears to have put himself in the crosshairs of the law. Uible, 59, was charged with one count of falsification, and obstructing official business, both misdemeanors, for allegedly making false statements to a detective with the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office. I hope that all who read this are surviving the Covid-19 pandemic, physically, emotionally, and financially. We are all still under “Stay at Home” orders. Responding, no doubt, to pressure from the White House, Governor DeWine has said that Ohio will start to re-open around May 1, 2020. What that means is yet to be determined.

COVID19 RESOURCES
Our lives have been turned upside down. We are doing our best to “stay at home” and be safe. Some are homeschooling. Some are working from home. Some have lost their jobs. Some are bravely putting their lives on the line to care for victims of this insidious virus. Some are bravely stocking the grocery shelves and delivering food. Where ever you are in this crisis remember there is help. Below are some helpful resources to guide you through.
As the saying goes: “Necessity is the mother of invention” We have to be creative and innovative and resilient. We will get through this.
CLOTH FACE COVERINGS (MASKS) COVID19 CHECKLIST
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has recommended that Americans wear cloth face coverings (masks) in public to help slow the spread of COVID-19. This recommendation is being made based on studies that show a significant proportion of people with COVID-19 lack symptoms and can transmit the virus to others in close proximity, through speaking, coughing, sneezing or other means.
Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton, M.D., MPH, strongly recommends that Ohioans take the following actions:
- Use coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, such as grocery stores, pharmacies, and public parks.
- Maintain 6-feet social distancing whenever possible, even if you are wearing a face covering. READ MORE
Kay Newby, our most dedicated Democrat warrior, has been sewing face masks to wear in public during the pandemic. She has generously offered to make masks for those who need them. OHIO LIBRARIES STEP UP SERVICES DURING CORONAVIRUS CRISIS
Even though all of Ohio’s public libraries have been closed because of the coronavirus crisis, libraries around the state are stepping up to help their patrons in a number of ways.According to a new Ohio Library Council survey of Ohio’s 251 public library systems, 99 percent have boosted their Wi-Fi connection so people can access it from the parking lot, as touted earlier this month by Lt. Gov. Jon Husted. (Some libraries, though, turn their wireless Internet off between midnight and 6 a.m. for security reasons). Nearly all libraries have also suspended due dates for books previously checked out and/or extended their online renewal policies. READ MORE.
GIVE YOURSELF SOME GRACE DURING COVID19 CRISIS

Ohio Department of Health Director Amy Acton, M.D., MPH, strongly offers these recommendations for coping with anxiety related to the COVID-19 outbreak: Remember that distress, anxiety, fear, and strong emotions are normal in times of distress or crisis. TIPS FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING, QUARANTINE AND ISOLATION DURING AN INFECTIOUS DISEASE OUTBREAK
In the event of an infectious disease outbreak, local officials may require the public to take measures to limit and control the spread of the disease. This tip sheet provides information about social distancing, quarantine, and isolation. The government has the right to enforce federal and state laws related to public health if people within the country get sick with highly contagious diseases that have the potential to develop into outbreaks or pandemics.
