OHIO BILL WOULD BAN ABORTIONS IF ROE V. WADE IS OVERTURNED
COLUMBUS – A Southwest Ohio lawmaker wants to be prepared to abolish abortion in Ohio if the U.S. Supreme Court overturns the landmark case, Roe v. Wade. Rep. John Becker, R-Union Township in Clermont County, is introducing a proposal to ban all abortions in Ohio except to save a woman’s life or prevent “substantial and irreversible impairment of a major bodily function.” READ MORE.

WORD FROM THE CHAIR – RAYMOND LEMBKE
As we move towards the November general election, we need to remember and publicize the decade-plus history of crime and corruption by Republicans in Clermont County government. In case you’ve forgotten, here are a few of the lowlights:
- In November 2008, Republican County Commissioner Mary Walker pled guilty to a criminal charge of improperly influencing the award of a county contract to her son’s company. Mrs. Walker was forced to resign from the County Commission. Her husband, Doug Walker, was fired as Union Township Administrator earlier in 2008 for directing several hundred thousand dollars of township funds to the same company. READ MORE

HOW TO DECLARE OR CHANGE POLITICAL PARTY IN OHIO
We have been getting frequent inquiries from Republicans about how to switch parties in Ohio, so we put together a primer and posted it on our website. Here’s an excerpt:
Under Ohio election law, you declare your affiliation with a political party by requesting the ballot of that party in a partisan primary election. So, for example, you would declare your affiliation with the Democratic Party by asking for a Democratic ballot when you vote in the March 17 primary election. Partisan primary elections are held in every even numbered year. The 2020 Ohio partisan primary election is on Tuesday, March 17. Early voting for the 2020 primary started on February 19. You may vote one party’s ballot in this primary election even if you’ve voted the other party’s ballot in previous elections. Read more.
