WORD FROM THE CHAIR – RAYMOND LEMBKE
Thanks to Covid-19, we are in the season of cancellations and postponements. CCDP’s Executive and Central Committee meetings scheduled for March 26 are cancelled. Our annual Donkey Dinner, scheduled for April 25, is indefinitely postponed. Most important, the March 17 Ohio primary election did not happen. While a lot of people did vote early in person or by mail, most Ohioans vote at their polling places on election day. That means there are a lot of people who still must be given a way to vote. CLEVELAND — On Sunday afternoon, Ohio Governor Mike DeWine and Ohio Department of Health director Dr. Amy Acton issued a Stay at Home order for the state of Ohio amid the coronavirus pandemic. Under the order, businesses deemed essential are permitted to operate and employees of those businesses are allowed to continue working.

DEWINE ORDERS CUTS IN STATE SPENDING IN ADVANCE OF HIT FROM CORONAVIRUS
The number of deaths from COVID-19 doubled from yesterday (March22)- going from three deaths announced Sunday to six today (March23). And Gov. Mike DeWine has issued several orders to state government as it fights coronavirus, saying that he expects state revenues to go to go down dramatically. READ MORE
INTERNET PROVIDERS COMMIT TO KEEP OHIOANS CONNECTED DURING SELF-ISOLATION, SCHOOL CLOSURES
Several high-speed internet providers in the start have joined with the Federal Communications Commission’s “Keep Americans Connected” Pledge. With the commitment, internet service providers say they “will not terminate service to any residential or small business customer for failure to pay during the pandemic; they will waive late fees for the customers and open their Wi-Fi hotspots to anyone who needs them,” according to a statement from Innovate Ohio. CHAMBER RELEASES BUSINESS RESOURCES AS SMALL BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION LOANS OPEN UP
As small businesses navigate the complicated environment of the coronavirus pandemic, local agencies and national companies are providing resources to guide owners through the process. The Ohio Chamber of Commerce launched a Coronavirus Business Resource to serve as a hub for all the happenings during the COVID-19 outbreak in Ohio.
